My name is Stacy Gullufsen and I’m the designer, craftswoman, and owner of SE-AK Chic Charms.

In 2000, a good friend taught me some basic things about jewelry designing and I began to bead with glass, semi-precious stones and silver. I started experimenting with flex wire and beading on silk fabrics. Instantly, I was hooked! I enrolled in jewelry classes and the artist within me came to life.

​

In 2008, I started my business online and in November of that year I had my premier showing at the Juneau Public Market. It was wildly well-received! Several local businesses asked to carry my collections after my jewelry showing during the Juneau Gallery Walk. Currently, my bejeweled collections are in numerous shops in Alaska. I continue jewelry designing with a passion! I have an intrinsic adoration for designing and have made my designing dreams a reality!

The materials I use include semi-precious stones, Czech glass, crystals, and recycled glass, as well as gold and silver for wire wrapping. Specialty pieces are made with German vintage glass. I recycle all of my metal scraps as well!

The “Artiste” in me loves the colors, the textured combinations of different stones. The process of making imaginative, modern, distinctive jewelry is meditative–soothing and inspires my animated soul. Every piece I design is a unique piece of my spirit.

My passion for what I fashion continues to grow every day, so I made it my slogan: Passion for what I fashion!  I’ve been fortunate to turn my design dreams into a reality and am thrilled to learn new techniques and exchange ideas with other designers.

Special appreciation and endless gratitude is extended to my late dear friend, Michal who inspired me and created my business name. Without her ongoing assistance, I would have been lost! As Michal put it, SE-AK Chic Charms is pronounced, “Seek Sheek Charms “and is a play on words of my geographical location – Southeast Alaska; “chic” is a French word for “trendy” and “charms” apply to any type of jewelry. It is my sincere, professional hope that consumers worldwide enjoy my work as much as I enjoy crafting each piece!

My mission through my business and on a personal level is my passion for animal welfare.  I am a very proud supporter of our local animal shelter, “Juneau Animal Rescue” (JAR) and donate jewelry annually for annual event etc. I also support Bethel Friends of Canines and other animal causes. Through social media I support the National Dog Mill Rescue in hopes to ban puppy mills all together and bring awareness on the Asian dog meat trade to end this horrific cruelty.  I’m very passionate for animal rights against cruelty, inhumane treatment and also remind others around me to “ADOPT and DO NOT SHOP." I try and educate others on how it’s important to adopt from local animal shelters or rescue organizations as it helps save lives.  Around 689,000 Shelter Animals are Euthanized each year including 359,000 Dogs and 330,000 Cats.
